Today 26th April 2010 I use the Heat Gun on the Kitchen Floor Vinyl Tiles. 1. I did go and look for the wall paper scraper (something knife) it is just uncanny that I return and stand in the same spot when I restart the camera. 2. Yes I said the oven was underneath the tile – it was a mistake, my mind had two sentences to say and decided to scramble them into one when Said. 3. Yes I did use a pot full of hot water before getting a heat gun to heat the vinyl tiles. Upon reflection, I do not know hot effective using a domestic iron with a thin towel on the floor to press on, would have been. 4. Be sure to have and use an adhesive cleaner or a strong cleaner to clean the edges of the tiles before re-laying. Thats all I think.. oh, compared to using the pot method – some may say heat gun method is slow, but in comparision trust me it is not and miles better than using an electric chisel, even could be therapeutic dependant on your mood at the time.
I have cats and looking into replacing some really worn out carpet in my living room, dining room, and hallway. Not doing carpet again, Wood and lament too expensive, I like the look of wood but not the upkeep. I was looking into some armstrong brand vinyl flooring, a wood floor print. It looked pretty good, didn’t look cheesy or fake to me. Price wise I think it was just about .50-2.75$ sq foot at Home Depot. My guess is it would be a 1 day installation process.
